My Visit to Village Mirzapur Siya with AMU Aligarh Students of Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Mission.

Travelling does’t mean to cover a long destination:A beach,a hill station ,a religious place ,a historical place or any metro city.It may be any place away from our boundary line. On a journey, we are larger than life. Life is vibrant, we are constantly learning.  I got a chance to visit village Mirzapur Siya with AMU Aligarh students Team of Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Mission.Village Mirzapur Siya is only at a distance of 8 Km from City Aligarh.

A Journey to Village Mirzapur Siya

The occasion was a mission of AMU Aligarh Student’s participation in Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Mission (SBSI).AMU Aligarh has adopted village Mirzapur (Block Jawan) in Disrtict Aligarh for Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Mission.I am from an urban based society,so it was a great opportunity for me to study a life and culture of a rural area.

On Way To Village Mirzapur Siya

The journey started from Arts Faculty of AMU Aligarh. Bus crossed Purani chungi leaving behind Jamalpur and Al-Barkat fly over turned left to a road leading to village Mirzapur Siya.

On way, after crossing flyover, Anupam Gupta purchased two dozen crispy Kachauris with raita, Aloo ki sabzi and garma garam jalebis. We recharged our energy level from these Kachauris and jalebis. Soothed oily throat with hot tea.On a return journey Momin Ali treated us with Good Day,Monaco biscuits and Britannia's fruit cake.

Team Members in Village Mirzapur Siya

Mirzapur Siya was just a 30 minute drive from the main University campus, the place seems to be an isolated island. On reaching Mirzapur, we found it a sleepy town, away from hustle bustle and noisy life of city.Old and young people were in easy mood lying under shadow.

People of Village Mirzapur are relaxing under a tree shade

I found some people were busy in smart mobile.Women came out from their houses and peeping. Later they became warm and friendly with all team member students of Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Mission (SBSI).

And, I was lost in greenery and tranquillity of green fields.

Mirzapur Siya is a gram Panchayat of Block Jawan. The total geographical area of village is approx. 200 hectares. Mirzapur Siya is a small village having total population of about 2500 and about 250 houses in Mirzapur Siya village.

Villages hold a mirror to Indian culture and heritage. India’s centuries-long traditions still exist there. Mirzapur Siya is a best example of mix culture of Ganga Jam uni Tahzib. Sound of Azaan and chims of temple too were echoing in air of village.

There is no doctor and medical facilities in Mirzapur. This gap is often filled by team Doctors of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College's Resident Doctors Association (RDA).They conduct camps in which free consultation and medicines are provided to patients suffering with various ailments.

Cleanliness is most important for physical well-being and a healthy environment. It has bearing on public and personal hygiene. It is essential for everyone to learn about cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation and the various diseases that are caused due to poor hygienic conditions.
The habits learnt at a young age get embedded into one's personality. Even if we inculcate certain habits like washing hands before meals, regular brushing of teeth, and bathing from a young age, we are not bothered about cleanliness of public places.

AMU Aligarh Students team of Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Mission performed Nukkad Nataks, street plays, mimicry with music, music and dance in school campus and in village.Later they went door to door of village Mirzapur.

Are bhaiya natak dekho, nukkad wala?
O! Khaike paan Banaras wala, khul jaey band aqal ka tala
Are Ramesh: Agar main apne gharka kuda,
Tere ghar men phenkun to
Main tera dushman, tu mera dush,
Main nagin tu sapera.
Aaj mere yar ki shadi hai
Mubarak ho Mubarak ho
Are kahe ki Mubarak,
Ladke walon ne shadi se mana kar diya
Keya! Par keyon?
Are bhai ladki walon ka kahna hai
Aapke ghar wale geela kuda neele dustbin men
Aur sookha kooda hare dustbin men nahi phenkte
Jisse hoti hain beemariya aur gali men badboo
Badboo! Kaisi badboo, keya aapko nahi arahi hai badboo
Ab to adat si ho gayio hai aisey jeene men
Are chuppp: Meri shadi toot gayi hai
Aur tum log maen le rahe ho.
Ey bhai zara dekh ke phenk
Aagey bhi nahi peechey bhi.
Upper hi nahi neechey bhi.
