World War time goodby kisses: women sent their men to the fears of war. Moments of love and passion

Sometimes it can be difficult to remember that people in photos from bygone eras had the same concerns, hopes, dreams, and loves that we do.

I am sure your eyes will be wet after seeing these classic vintage goodby kisses.

The act of saying goodbye and sharing goodby kisses  is always an emotional one, especially when it’s to love ones who are going to war. The vintage photos of soldiers kissing their girlfriends, wives, or even kids before getting deployed or going to war capture the human side of war.

Love in the time of war was never easy. In Fact it was so intense even that these breath-taking pictures hardly do justify.

The intensified atmosphere of wartime, when couples met with the very real knowledge that they might never see each other again.

“Love rather than war, flowers rather than bombs.” These touching images remind us that love in wartime can be the worst, as the most comforting feeling.

Each goodbye is a drama complete in itself.Sometimes the girl stands with arms around the boys’ waist, hands tightly clasped behind. Another fits her head into the curve of his cheek while tears fall onto his coat.

Now and then the boy will take her face between his hands and speak reassuringly. Or if the wait is long they may just stand quietly, not saying anything.

The common denominator of all these goodbyes is sadness and tenderness, and complete oblivion for the moment to anything but their own individual heartaches.

Many of them knew they might not make it back home alive. These photos captured the raw emotions of those moments, soldiers hugging their loved ones tightly, looking into their eyes, and kissing them goodbye.

These moments of goodbye display the deep love and commitment that soldiers and their families had for one another, despite the challenges and uncertainty that lay ahead.

The old photographs serve as a emotional reminder of the sacrifices that soldiers and their families made during times of war. War is not solely about the soldiers who fight on the front lines; it is also about the families left behind.
